When you call Monsieur Drain, they will take care of your house like it’s their own. Howard Cohen, master plumber of 26 years and owner of Monsieur Drain believes treating clients like family is of utmost importance. After all, nothing is better than a recommendation after a job well done.
“Everyone has a friend and everyone needs a plumber,” says Cohen.
Their recently trademarked name, a new, bigger location in Ville-SaintLaurent, and franchising are all a testament to the work that goes into making the company a household name. What began as a side business for Cohen’s partner David Kellner 11 years ago has grown into much more.
“[Four years ago, I told David] we’ll take the business from a few calls to a big name out there,” explains Cohen. “We’re just getting bigger and bigger. It’s a great name, we have a great look. Mr. Drain is McDonald’s in the drain business!” He adds that the company added another truck to its fleet of six vehicles just last week. Monsieur Drain travels all over the island of Montreal, the North and South Shore, and is available 24 hours a day, seven days week. Their team of four expert plumbers, paired with top-notch equipment and quick, reliable service is what
makes Monsieur Drain rise above the rest.
“We offer all types of drain cleaning, repair and inspection, excavation of drains, drain replacement from the city to the home, french drains, and all plumbing needs,” he says. “If the pipe is full of roots, or damaged — the pipe outside from the house to the city — we can excavate it and replace it within a day.”

Monsieur Drain’s philosophy was tested one Christmas Eve when a woman called them after her basement began backing up, rendering her toilets useless. Cohen’s team set up a portable bathroom for her Christmas morning, not only for the family to use but for the guests they were expecting. They even managed to save her some money once the job was completed the following day.
